When I first heard about hunting Yak, I was intrigued. I personally spend a lot of time cooking and I’ve heard that Yak meat is very lean and has a great taste. Since this was my first Yak hunt, I was relying on my guide, Stephanie to help me put a good stalk on a massive bull. I was told to be prepared for the bull to charge if threatened. Using the natural contours of the landscape we were able to break a big bull off the group and get in position for a good shot. After the hunt, I was treated with smoked yak steaks that were more than delicious! I would recommend this hunt for anyone looking for something unique and full of adrenaline. The hunt was very exciting and the meat was incredible!

I started with Bow Creek a few years ago on a Upland hunt, but since then I've come back for whitetail and yak hunts. All I can say is WOW! This has to be the best kept secret in the midwest. I have never been treated like a "guest" or "customer" I have always been treated like family. The kind of family they go overboard for food, good hunting, accommodations and more. They truly care about you.
