Bow Creek Ranch Outfitters, offers exciting dove hunting experiences from September 1st to October 31st. The hunts take place over small ponds, and tanks surrounded by bare ground, attracting doves that come from local and northern areas. With limited water sources, the hunts are fast-paced and action-packed. Hunters enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting up at the ponds with mojo decoys, attracting doves from nearby fields. After a morning hunt, lunch and relaxation we follow up with a late afternoon/evening session. The limit of 15 doves per day per hunter, ensures plenty of opportunities for successful hunting. The cost is $295 per hunter per day.  This includes lodging in our 3 bedroom, two bath, fully furnished farm house. Click here to learn more about our lodging.

Four species of doves are legal to hunt in Kansas: mourning dove, Eurasian collared-dove, ringed turtle-dove, and white-winged dove. Pigeons, also known as rock doves or rock pigeons, are classified as a pest species, not a game species, and can be shot year-round.

When I first heard about hunting Yak, I was intrigued. I personally spend a lot of time cooking and I’ve heard that Yak meat is very lean and has a great taste. Since this was my first Yak hunt, I was relying on my guide, Stephanie to help me put a good stalk on a massive bull. I was told to be prepared for the bull to charge if threatened. Using the natural contours of the landscape we were able to break a big bull off the group and get in position for a good shot. After the hunt, I was treated with smoked yak steaks that were more than delicious! I would recommend this hunt for anyone looking for something unique and full of adrenaline. The hunt was very exciting and the meat was incredible!

I started with Bow Creek a few years ago on a Upland hunt, but since then I've come back for whitetail and yak hunts. All I can say is WOW! This has to be the best kept secret in the midwest.
