What Types of Hunts Are Offered?

Bow Creek Ranch specializes in a variety of hunting experiences, including:

  • Upland Hunts: Pursue pheasant, quail, and chukar.
  • Dove Hunts: Fast-paced hunts over small ponds and tanks from September 1 to October 31.
  • Mule Deer Hunts: Limited spots available. Hunters must draw a tag through the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
  • Predator Hunts: Daytime and thermal night hunts for for coyotes, bobcats, and raccoons.
  • Yak Hunts: Unique opportunity to hunt bull yaks, considered dangerous game.

What’s Included in the Hunt Packages?

All guided hunts at Bow Creek Ranch include:

  • Lodging: Comfortable accommodations with amenities such as fiber-backed Wi-Fi, TV, full kitchen, and two full bathrooms.
  • Meals: Hearty home-cooked meals to fuel your hunting adventures.

  • Custom Processing Options: Assistance with processing your game, from field dressing and quartering to packaging at a local locker.

What Should I Bring?

While Bow Creek Ranch provides many essentials, hunters should bring:

  • Appropriate firearms or archery equipment for the chosen hunt.
  • Ammunition or arrows.
  • Weather-appropriate clothing. Camo is recommended.
  • Valid Kansas hunting license and any required permits or tags.
  • Personal items such as toiletries, medications, and binoculars.

Can I Bring My Own Dog?

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own dog. Arrangements can be made in advance. Bow Creek Ranch also provides trained pointing dogs for upland hunts.

Are Non-Hunting Guests Allowed?

Yes. The lodge can be booked separately if space is available, or non-hunting companions can join your group. Just let us know ahead of time so we can plan meals and accommodations accordingly.

What Are the Check-In and Check-Out Times?

Check-in is typically the afternoon before your first hunt, and check-out is the morning after your final hunt. We’re flexible and will work around your travel schedule. Simply coordinate with us when you book.

Do I Need a Hunting License?

Yes, a valid Kansas hunting license is required for all hunts. Certain species (such as mule deer) require additional tags or permits drawn through the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. We’re happy to guide you through the application process.

How Do I Get There? What Airports Are Nearby?

Most guests fly in and drive. The closest options are:

  • Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT): approximately 3.5 hours away
  • Hays Regional Airport (HYS): about 1.5 hours away, with regional connections

Renting a vehicle at either airport is the easiest way to reach the ranch. We’ll send detailed directions and can help with shuttle or pickup arrangements if needed.
